Wunderous Train

I do apologize for the lateness of this "Wednesday" post

I am slowing floating back to earth after my Nevermoor universe high..

I finished the new series Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow and Wundersmith: The Calling of Morrigan Crow by Jessica Townsend at the beginning of the week. The first words that come to mind are… WOW!

Townsend is a phenomenal writer and lives part-time in London and part-time in Australia. Her debut series has been compared to being the next Harry Potter, and I honestly have to agree. Her main character Morrigan Crow is a witty and sassy eleven-year-old girl, who was rescued from a cruel and hateful family and whisked off to a new world with magic and a place with everyone is a bit special. We find out Morrigan is just a bit more special than other, just like our beloved young wizard.

The first book, Nevermoor, goes through the trials of leading us up to the reveal of why Morrigan is truly special and how she meets and befriends her two besties. The second, Wundersmith, is all about the tests that Morrigan’s unit is put through to be see if they will be a stronger group together or fall apart and not trust each other.

From the girl who has always wanted a family to the patron who has never taken a candidate, this series has been thrilling, adventurous and heart-warming.

I read the entire two-book series (1,034 pages) in a matter of two days! I give this series 5 stars out of 5 stars; and would recommend it to anyone who loves fantasy, adventure or a sense of family and duty.

Come and join me on the Wunderous train to the Wunder Society! *Toot, toot*
