Literary Tweethearts #3

In the number two spot for top literary couples we have....

*DRUM ROLL*

Percy Jackson & Annabeth Chase

This couple comes from Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series.

I love the story of Percy and Annabeth. It was definitely not a love at first sight kind of thing.

Annabeth's mother Athena and Percy's dad Poseidon are enemies. They both wanted to be the patron of the city of Athens. Each was to bring forth a gift for the city and let the people decided. Two guesses who won. (Athena = Athens... coincidence? I don't think so....) Ever since then they have been at odds with each other. Therefore, it's only fair in the world of Gods/Demigod's that a parent's problems were surely to become their child's. Hmm.

Annabeth wasn't quite sure how she felt about Percy at first. I mean here was this new kid coming in claiming to be one of the big three. (UNHEARD OF) Now he was supposed to fill this prophecy and go on a quest (ALSO UNHEARD OF). I mean how was she supposed to feel when he's taking all her thunder at being the "favorite".

In the end however, Annabeth really likes Percy and thinks he's cool.

I love how this couple is so real with each other though. They start off not quite sure of each other, morphed into ok we could be friends, giving each other nicknames (He calls her "wise girl" because her mother's symbol is the owl, and she calls him "Seaweed Brain" because his father is God of the Sea), to falling in love with each other. It's all very real and romantic. It honestly is exactly like a teenage/Middle-school relationship.

It's a great role model for young girls. I ADORE THEM!!!

Also doesn't hurt that I LOVE Greek mythology. it's just an added bonus! <3
